District 6 is the fifth largest district by area, containing the southwest corner of the state. The economy is mainly supported through agriculture, mining, and tourism which including excellent whitewater rafting. This district also has two national parks, Mesa Verde and the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. The Ute Mountain Ute and Southern Ute Reservations make up the extreme southern portion of the district. Both tribes are relatively well off due to gaming revenue and natural gas royalties.
