District 2 is centered around Boulder, even though it is not as strong of a Democratic district, since Boulder makes up only portion of the district. The district goes as far west as Eagle County, with Summit, Grand, and Clear Creek counties making up a majority of the land area in the district, but not population. The main source of voters in this district is Boulder County minus Longmont, The University of Colorado at Boulder is the most successful university in the state, and largely Democratic. The current Representative, Mark Udall, will be running for the U.S. Senate seat in 2008, which should spark a primary between multiple Democratic candidates.
