District 27 is a district that contains approximately 70% of Arvada. Arvada was a small town until after World War II, when the opening of Rocky Flats in the 1950s boosted its population and the eventual construction of Interstate 70 to the south of town in the 1960s. The largest issue facing Arvada is the completion of the outer loop around Denver to relieve interior streets of crippling commute traffic. FasTracks, the light rail build out project, will connect Arvada to the rest of the network through the Gold Line which runs on the railroad track to the North of I-70.
