District 11 is one of three districts Boulder was split into during redistricting. This district contains the smallest portion of Boulder, with most of the population actually coming from Longmont, a town 11 miles away from Boulder. Longmont was at one time considered a bedroom community for Boulder, but has lately been developing a distinct character with a vibrant downtown. Industry in Longmont is mostly computer related, with Seagate and other component manufacturers having plants in town.
